Rainbowkitty Meets Their Match: An Eidolon Story
Emotional Habitat: Confusion-scape of abstract geometric shapes
Spirit Creature: Interacting Eidolons
Color Archetypes: Rainbow colors = All possibilities; Black = Uncertainty
Background: When I met my life partner, they fell in love with everything about me, seeing things in me that I could not see. Having never had a relationship with any human that wasn’t a toxic destructive mess, I lived most of my life believing their words that there was nothing good or lovable about me. So, I went through quite a profound reckoning knowing these toxic-abusive people had to be wrong while struggling to accept that my new life partner, who loved me, had to right. This moment in the Nooscape symbolically conveys that process of embracing and identifying the things I learned to love about myself. But loving only the bright and colorful “good things” about me left me feeling incomplete. What I discovered on this healing journey was that all the things I was finally learning to love about myself would never exist without the “bad parts” of me that had been punished by others with the deepest judgement, shame, and ridicule. It was hard to love those parts of me that survived but had acquired physical and emotional scars to serve as a constant memory of my hardest life experiences. The truth is, I possess no “good” and “bad” parts. All of those parts are what make me beautiful and deserving of love, not from others, but from me.
Interpretation: I thought this piece was better told through poetry.
Rainbowkitty was very pretty/So beautiful, it's true/Their fluffy coat was colored/Of red, orange, yellow, green, and blue/ost days they were happy/On some days they were sad/But their fluffy colored coat/Made them feel most glad//Then one day on a walk/They crossed the rainbow bridge/Below some colors caught their eye/And said, "I don't know what this is!"//"What are these colors that I see?/Deep purple, red, that shine like me."//They crept real close/With big bright eyes/And saw these colors were alive//They wiggled round like many snakes/And Rainbowkitty saw it’s face//A worried sullen creature too/That seemed to hide just out of view//For this creature did not feel glad/About the beauty that it had//And with a voice that lacked much hope/It said, "Hello, my name is Mope.//I live down here beyond the frame/Because my heart feels too much pain//I'm too ashamed of what you see/And people think I'm too ugly//I have no friends, and many say/The way I'm made scares them away//They mock my colors, my scars, my arms/Even though I bring no harm//Beneath the bridge is where I dwell/Because it’s hard to love myself//I stay here sad, wishing one day/A friend will come and want to play//To feel the joy that others can/And love me for just who I am."//Rainbowkitty shined so bright/Their joy so full they might take flight//They called to Mope and said to thee,/"You're the most beautiful thing I've seen//Your colors' something I've never known/Your specialness truly stands alone//I've searched this land hoping to find/Someone so different and unique as I//Cuz others see what they want to see/They never get to know who's me//They call me Rainbow, but that isn't true/I lack the colors that make up you//It hurts my heart that you've been treated bad/But on this day I feel most glad//Together you and I are one/We complete the Rainbow made by Sun//I know how you feel and have to say/You've made your first best friend today//Let's share this world, I'll give what's mine/Complete for once and for all time."//Then Mope rose from the bridge below/A smile he felt began to grow//The light of joy filled both their hearts/And from that day they'd never part.
