Spirit Creatures of the Nooscape
No individual's spirit creatures are the same as another's.
For some of us, a single spirit creature may symbolize a very deeply held emotional state that is central to our identity or a core belief that has yet to transform. However, as we journey through life, our personal evolution can create intense experiences that place us into many temporary emotions when we are struggling with the transition from one state to another.
We often overlook a central benefit of how special we are. Fundamental to our truest selves is that the highest state we can achieve in this life, and all possible answers we are seeking, actually live within us. They are not external things we find in others, but they are born with us and meant to be discovered. The Nooscape is a place where all things hidden can be revealed.
Our intuition is the voice of our hearts that requires careful listening. The Nooscape becomes a place where our higher self can manifest as beings that speak through symbolic messaging. When we dedicate our efforts to deeply understand ourselves, we can decode these messages and begin to hear them speak the answers we seek.
These attributes are what make spirit creatures so incredibly powerful and meaningful to seeing the path we have taken and the destinations we seek to discover. Although we all possess and create unique spirit creatures, they commonly take on five fundamental forms in the Nooscape:
The lower Earthly Forms directly connected to our personal identity called Eidolons and Ephemera and the higher Celestial Forms connected to the spiritual and metaphysical planes called Daimons, Ascendants, and The Nooumenon.
Eidolons
The term Eidolon comes from the Ancient Greek word εἴδωλον (eidōlon), meaning form, likeness, or idealized representation.
An Eidolon is the personification of a deeply held belief or knowledge an individual has associated with their internal identity. Eidolons can exist across multiple emotional habitats and, therefore, can inevitably interact with other Eidolon creatures or higher Celestial forms. The emotional state these Eidolons exist in, and how they interact with the emotional ecology of the Nooscape, present deeply valuable lessons for interpreting how we see ourselves in relation to the life and relationships we face in the physical realm.
Ephemera
Ephemera are another form of Eidolon that represent a temporary state of emotional experience. The term comes from the Ancient Greek word ἐφήμερος (ephēmeros) which means “a brief state of existence.”
There are times when we are faced with such overwhelming circumstances that our emotional states can swell like a storm. Death of a loved one, losing a job, injury, a broken relationship, liberation from abuse, midlife crises all create undeniable states of temporary existence and inevitable change. In the Nooscpae, these emotions manifest as powerfully symbolic Ephemera that are metaphorically analogous to the stages of a butterfly's metamorphosis. Yet, we cannot often transform from one emotional state to the next without facing the emotions we have at the time. While these life events force us to reckon with the process of emotional evolution, Ephemera possess deeply meaningful symbolism for you to understand who you have been, who you are, and who you need to become.
Daimons
An Eidolon may be accompanied by another abstract form or creature known as a Daimon (pronounced DYE-mon), from the Greek word, δαίμων (daimōn), meaning a “guide of higher intelligence.” A Daimon is an enigmatic companion to an Eidolon that possesses profound wisdom and insight that is not immediately apparent. A Daimon’s purpose is to bridge our limited views in the physical world to the inherent wisdom of our heart’s spiritual and metaphysical intuition. Daimons are the most trusted guides through our emotional process with intentions to bring our awareness to the greater reality of our experiences we have not fully realized or integrated in life. However, because of their otherworldly state, their messages are not conveyed in the language of our physical world. Consequently, the symbolism and wisdom of a Daimon companion must be decoded through an intuitive process of the heart before we can progress through our emotional evolution.
Ascendants
Ascendants present themselves as cryptic, and somewhat frightening, spirit creatures within the Nooscape when a specific state of becoming is imminent. Ascendants are always paired with an Eidolon or Ephemera as fortunetellers of a future when your emotional state will eventually, and unwillingly, be altered within this plane of existence.
These inevitable states can include death, the loss or gain of something important to you, the reconciliation or fallout of a relationship with a loved one, or an epiphany (good or bad) about to materialize. Whatever it is, the arrival of an Ascendant means that this event is unavoidable and, while you may be just experiencing the emotions of the idea of it now, your life is going to change. In this way, Ascendants should not be feared as harbingers of doom but rather, interpreted as messengers that your emotional transformation must begin now to prepare you for the future.
The Nooumenon
The most unusual spirit creature of the Nooscape is The Nooumenon. These entities seemingly exist in the metaphysical or spiritual realm beyond the confines of our Earthly comprehension. The Nooumenon are similar to Ascendants but far more powerful.
The Nooumenon are not just messengers of inevitable change, but more so, the embodiment of who you must become. In this way, The Nooumenon actually represent our Higher State of Being, where the emotions we possess about a traumatic life experience must face their final becoming.
In our greatest time of need, The Nooumenon will manifest in the Nooscape to open our minds and hearts to the possibility of achieving a final state of peace and acceptance. Not surprisingly, The Nooumenon are strongly associated with life events of significant and powerful loss. However, their ability to bring us to the beautiful overlook of our Nooscape, where the healing journey eventually leads, is so much more significant and powerful.
